The American Red Cross is also known as the ARC; has been a well-established lifeline for almost 138 years. Founded in May of 1881, The ARC has grown to include over 250 chapters and is the United States number one supplier of blood. The ARC is a humanitarian organization with its sole focus on supporting others in their time of need. Not only does the ARC supply blood, but they offer assistance in other areas referred to as divisions that include; disaster services, training services, Armed Forces services, and International services. The five divisions that encompass this charity provides aid to its victims in both the United States as well as internationally. It’s never known when a disaster will strike, but it is known that The American Red Cross will be one of the first responders to offer assistance when it does.
